Hi! I’m Zara, an aspiring Investment Banker currently on my gap year before university. I studied Mathematics, Further Mathematics, and Chemistry at A-level, achieving three A*s, and I also earned all grade 8/9s at GCSE.
I’m passionate about helping students reach their potential in every subject, whether that’s building confidence, mastering exam technique, or aiming for top grades. My approach is patient, structured, and tailored to each student’s needs, making even the trickiest topics clear and manageable.
Alongside tutoring, I’m a self-taught musician and a keen sports player, and I enjoy inspiring young people to work hard, stay motivated, and aim high in all areas of life.
I have several years of informal and formal tutoring experience, working with both GCSE and Primary school students. I’ve supported learners in preparing for exams, tackling homework challenges, and building confidence in Maths. Many of my students have improved by at least one or two grades within a few months of consistent lessons.
During my own studies, I often helped classmates understand complex topics in Maths and Chemistry, which led to my interest in tutoring. I’m experienced in explaining concepts in different ways to suit varied learning styles, and I create tailored resources to make lessons engaging and effective.
I also have experience working with younger learners to develop strong numeracy skills early on, ensuring they have a solid foundation before progressing to higher levels.
My teaching style is friendly, patient, and adaptable. I believe every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to suit the individual’s strengths, weaknesses, and goals. I break down complex topics into simple, manageable steps, using real-life examples where possible to make the content engaging and relatable.
For exam preparation, I focus on building strong core knowledge before moving on to timed practice and past papers. I also emphasise exam technique, helping students understand exactly what examiners are looking for to maximise marks.
I aim to create a positive, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing in confidence. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades but also to foster a genuine understanding and enjoyment of the subject.
