★ About Me ★
I am an experienced and degree-qualified language tutor with a BA French degree from the University of Bristol.
During my time as a tutor, I have supported students aged 7 to 18, helping them build confidence, improve academic performance, and prepare effectively for exams. In addition to French, I teach English as a Foreign Language to both children and professionals.
I began learning French over a decade ago as a complete beginner and went on to study the language at GCSE, A Level, and university. My language learning journey has given me a strong understanding of the challenges students face at each stage. I have since lived in Bordeaux, and now use French in a professional setting on a daily basis.
★ My Teaching Philosophy ★
There’s a misconception that languages are inherently difficult - but I don't believe they are! My approach is about breaking down the confusion and making things simple, clear, and step-by-step. I focus on explaining grammar and language structure in ways that actually make sense, using memory-based techniques that reflect how we naturally retain information.
My approach is about building a genuine understanding, sparking curiosity, and inspiring a genuine interest in French by making the language feel relevant, accessible and enjoyable. I also help students connect exam content to real-world language use, so they don’t just learn French for an exam - they learn it (hopefully!) for life.
I'm committed, patient, and passionate about unlocking each student's potential. I believe that with consistent effort and clear guidance, every student can achieve outstanding results!
