First-class Philosophy and Theology graduate from the University of Edinburgh, prize-winner for top marks in my year, and specialist A-level Philosophy teacher. I have over a decade of experience tutoring Philosophy, Religious Studies, and Critical Thinking. I help students sharpen their thinking, write with clarity, and achieve top grades through engaging, rigorous lessons tailored to their needs.
I am a Philosophy and Theology specialist teacher and tutor with over a decade of experience helping students achieve top results at A level and beyond. I hold a First Class MA in Philosophy and Theology from the University of Edinburgh, where I won the department prize for the highest overall marks in my year.
Since 2012 I have tutored students of all abilities in my specialist subjects- Philosophy, Theology, and related areas such as Critical Thinking- preparing students for A levels, university entrance (including Oxbridge interviews), and undergraduate success.
Alongside tutoring, I have taught A level Philosophy and Religious Studies at leading London schools, including the London Academy of Excellence, Stratford, and Pimlico Academy. I have also served as an examiner for the AQA Philosophy specification, giving me deep insight into how to prepare students for top marks. As a Senior Specialist and Teacher Trainer with The Philosophy Foundation, I have facilitated philosophical enquiries with thousands of students, trained other specialist teachers, and delivered talks and workshops on philosophical thinking. I have also worked with Debate Chamber and corporate clients through Philosophy At Work, running advanced seminars and workshops on critical and creative thinking.
As a specialist Philosophy and Religious Studies teacher and examiner, I help students think more deeply and critically than they often can in the classroom. I help with:
Building Critical Thinking and Clear Writing
I support students in developing strong argument skills and expressing their ideas clearly in writing. My background in logic helps me guide them to think more independently and creatively.
Improving Study and Revision Skills
I teach effective revision, note-taking, goal-setting, and time management- skills schools don’t always have time to cover fully. This personalised support helps students prepare smarter for exams.
Adapting to Individual Learning Styles
Everyone learns differently. Whether a student prefers abstract ideas, concrete examples, or storytelling, I tailor my explanations to fit their way of learning, making philosophy and RS more accessible.
With experience as both a teacher and examiner, I know exactly what exam boards expect and focus on helping students succeed with confidence and clear understanding.
