I am a qualified Primary School teacher with a degree in Education. I have six years experience of tutoring children in school and at home.
I have 3 children, 2 are in their early twenties and one in secondary school. I am available to tutor in pupils’ homes or elsewhere.
I have been a class teacher in Key Stages One and Two. I have also worked as a teaching assistant, working one-to-one with students, and a parent helper at my children’s school.
Most recently, I have been a tutor in three different schools. First as part of a catch up programme after Coronavirus, to help pupils in years one to six, who have fallen behind. Then as a tutor in a local junior school working with years three to six with English and Maths.
I have also tutored in school through an agency working one to one with a special needs child.
Alongside this, I have been a private tutor working from my home and in pupils homes.
I have a calm and quiet approach to teaching. I am friendly and approachable and enjoy tutoring as it enables me to identify gaps in my students knowledge and take time to focus on these without the constraints within a classroom. I always try to take a fun approach to tutoring and have built up lots of games over the years. My sessions are highly organised but I am also prepared to adapt activities as the need arises.
