Ruben

I'm Ruben and I am currently a first year student at the university of Nottingham studying civil engineering. I spent the first 18 years of my life in London where I recently completed my A-levels in maths physics and French. In my free time I am most likely at the park playing football, or playing piano which i have enjoyed playing since the age of 6.

Tutoring Experience

I have worked for a tutoring company called Learning Labs where i tutored kids from the ages of 7 to 16. I taught maths, English, biology, chemistry and physics and was comfortable teaching these subjects at any level up to GCSEs. I had 1 class of students preparing for SATs and another class preparing for GCSEs, and i did also do 1 on 1 tuition for GCSEs students.

Tutoring Approach

As a teacher I am very patient with my students and I explain complex ideas in simple language and a way students can process and understand. My general lesson structure would consist of learning the content of a specific topic and then doing exam questions on that topic to test the student's understanding and highlight their strengths and weaknesses. I will also teach students excellent exam technique like how to manage their time in the exam and how to answer questions efficiently and accurately.
