I’m a fully qualified primary school teacher with experience teaching across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 in Northern Ireland. I’m passionate about helping children grow in confidence and develop a love of learning. My sessions are warm, encouraging, and tailored to each child’s needs so they can succeed at their own pace. I offer support in literacy, numeracy, homework help, and preparation for the SEAG transfer test, both online and in-person.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught in Primary 3 and Primary 6, giving me experience in both early literacy and numeracy development as well as upper-primary learning. In Primary 6, I supported pupils preparing for the SEAG transfer test, with a strong focus on building confidence and helping them feel ready for the challenges ahead. I have taught children of all abilities, including those with additional needs, and I am confident in differentiating lessons so that every pupil makes progress. My classroom experience means I understand the demands of the Northern Ireland Curriculum and can adapt my teaching to suit each learner’s goals and learning style.

Tutoring Approach

My tutoring sessions are tailored to each child, starting with their current strengths and the areas they find more challenging. I aim to build confidence through clear explanations, engaging activities, and plenty of positive encouragement. Lessons are designed to complement and reinforce the work set by the child’s class teacher, ensuring continuity between school and tutoring. I adapt my methods to suit different learning styles and needs, using a mix of interactive tasks, practical examples, and structured practice. My goal is for every child to leave each session feeling more capable, more confident, and motivated to keep learning.
