Experienced tutor and fully qualified English Teacher available for English tuition for both Literature and Language from Primary up to A Level. Experienced in working with students with additional educational needs and English as a second language. Trained AQA marker for GCSE English Literature, experienced with range of exam boards including AQA, iGCSE, Pearson, OCR.

Since Lockdown, I have been offering all lessons via zoom which has been working really well. I am happy to discuss this in more detail with you if you have any questions.

Tutoring Experience

I am a passionate and enthusiastic qualified English teacher, currently Head of English at a specialist school for students with additional educational needs. I understand the demands of the GCSE course and enjoy teaching new strategies and approaches to break the different questions down. I quickly identify a student’s strengths and areas for developments. I am also available to tutor primary school students.

In addition, I also offer A Level English Literature tuition.

In terms of tuition, I am keen to work with the student closely to establish areas to improve and develop and will plan accordingly to monitor progress.

I will also aim to build students' confidence through each session. I have experience teaching English language and literature across KS3, KS4 and A Level. In terms of GCSE experience, I have taught both Year 10 and 11 and have experience teaching a wide range of abilities and needs.

Tutoring Approach

I will ensure I work at a pace that works for the student and will ensure they have become confident in areas of weakness before moving on. I will work with the student to build techniques and strategies that work for them, that they can take forward and practise at school and in exams. I am friendly and supportive and easy to talk to.
