Hi, I'm Oli! I’m a flautist and recent double first-class Music graduate from New College, Oxford. Alongside flute teaching and academic Music mentoring, I am a freelance recital performer, composer/arranger, and am in training to become a solicitor in Music and Media law.

Tutoring Experience

I have several years' experience mentoring in GCSE Music, A Level Music, Music Theory grades (1-8), instrumental aural exams, and Oxbridge Music applications. My sessions cover all elements of each course, including analysis, harmony, performance, composition, melodic dictation and aural skills. Most recently I coached 3/3 students to successful Oxbridge applications in 2025.

Tutoring Approach

My sessions are engaging, encouraging, and challenging. My sessions take a skills-based approach, developing critical and argumentative skills while building the reactiveness to articulate high-level opinions on advanced topics with confidence. I tailor programmes of study to the needs and priorities of each learner, helping students capitalise on their unique areas of talent and interest while identifying and addressing areas for development.
