I’m a passionate and approachable tutor with a strong academic background and a proven ability to connect with and inspire young learners. As a former basketball scholarship athlete, I bring discipline, patience, and leadership into every lesson, creating an engaging environment where my students feel supported and motivated. I combine technical expertise in programming and problem solving with the communication skills I developed through years of coaching and mentoring. My goal is to make learning both accessible and enjoyable, helping students grow in confidence while achieving their full potential.
I have taught programming to students aged 10–16 through several coding camps, delivering lessons in a fun, interactive, and age appropriate way. I break down complex technical topics into clear, relatable concepts, adapting my approach to match each student’s learning style and ability. Alongside my technical teaching, I have also coached and mentored a youth basketball team as part of the Kent Crusaders Basketball Academy, where I led practice sessions and provided one to one guidance to help young players improve. This experience allowed me to further develop my communication skills and create a positive supportive atmosphere where students and players alike could grow in confidence.
My tutoring approach is built on reinforcement and practical learning. While understanding concepts is important, I believe the real mastery comes from applying them. I make sure students engage with plenty of practice questions and real world examples, so their knowledge becomes second nature. Whenever a student makes a mistake or encounters difficulty, I see it as an opportunity to step in, identify the gap, and adjust their methods. Teachers are there to introduce topics, tutors are there to fill in the gaps, strengthen the foundation, and ensure students have the confidence and skills to build on it.
