I am a qualified science teacher with 16 years of classroom experience; I gained my science teaching qualification from
Cardiff university, in 2007. I have taught science for the past 18 years from KS3 to A level. I left the classroom in 2023
and for the past two years I have been tutoring, specialising in one-to-one and small group support.
My subject specialism is Biology, though I have extensive experience in delivering all three science subjects, across varied courses and curriculum, to a wide range of learners, including those pupils with additional learning needs.
I have a proven track record as an excellent classroom teacher. I have developed an in-depth understanding of science courses and specifications, from KS3, KS4 and more recently KS5 (yr12 and yr13 A ‘level Biology). My last year in school alone, I taught 16 classes over 7 different subject specifications, Applied Science, Double and triple award Biology in yr. 10, Applied Science and Double Award Biology in yr. 11, A/S yr. 12 Biology and B-Tec forensic Science.
My approach to tutoring focuses on delivering the relevant syllabus in a supportive and engaging learning environment. I utilise a variety of teaching methods, including interactive lessons, multimedia resources and past paper question practice (for GCSE pupils), to ensure that students not only grasp the course required content but also develop a genuine interest in science.
