Learn French or Italian with a qualified tutor and published author, using smart memory tricks that make it stick.
Languages have always been my passion, and helping others to master them is what I love most about teaching. I’m a qualified tutor with a Master’s in Modern Languages from the Sorbonne in Paris, and a native French speaker. Over the years I’ve worked with learners of all ages and goals, from young beginners discovering their first words to professionals polishing their skills for work or travel. My lessons are encouraging, friendly and adapted to each student so you feel supported every step of the way.
I have been teaching for over two decades, working with learners of all ages and levels - from complete beginners to advanced students. My experience includes preparing pupils for 11+, 13+, GCSE, iGCSE, A Level, IB, university courses and corporate training. Many of my students have achieved top grades and gained places at their chosen schools or universities.
Alongside tutoring, I am the author of widely used French textbooks, recognised by the Times Educational Supplement, and have created learning resources used in classrooms across the UK. I have also served as a former examiner for the French Baccalaureate and trained primary and secondary school teachers in language teaching. You can find my books at Brilliant Publications and on Amazon.
Lessons are immersive, with most of the session conducted in French so you naturally start thinking in the language. I use practical conversation, clear explanations and personalised exercises to make sure each learner builds both skill and confidence. Memory tricks, visual aids and logical links help vocabulary and grammar stay in your mind for the long term.
At the end of each lesson, I provide a clear written recap and set exercises to reinforce the learning before the next session. For exam preparation, I tailor each lesson to the syllabus and focus on mastering exam techniques alongside fluency. My aim is to create lessons that are lively, motivating and effective so you make clear progress from the very first session.
