Welcome. My name is Lisa, and I’ve been an educator for almost twenty years.

Teaching has been a true source of joy in my life. I have a genuine passion for what I do, and over the years I have collaborated with many wonderful learners from all over the world. I love to share language, and culture, and I love to share knowledge and make meaningful connections with all the learners that I have been lucky to work with.

I am a highly skilled educator who has been trained to tutor learners of all ages. I can support you with the IELTS or the Cambridge exam. I am also trained to work with business learners, but I especially enjoy working with young people. They light up my day.

When working with your child I'll be using the Cambridge approach. My lessons are fun and playful. They include Cambridge phonics, Cambridge Starters, Cambridge Movers, and Cambridge Flyers. I also have a comprehensive programme in place for YA learners, and beginners.

Over the last five years I have worked with children as young as three years old, and we have so much fun together; we dance, we sing, we learn, and sometimes we do a little Yoga. It's a fun way to learn verbs.

Tutoring Experience

I've been an educator in higher education for twelve years. I have a PhD and master's in English literature and Creative Writing. I am TEFL qualified and have experience working in schools. I also have experience with young learners and secondary students advancing their language and literature skills. I've also worked with students in higher education, providing editing and focused analysis of literary content.

Tutoring Approach

From our very first lesson, you and I will discuss your needs and create a lesson schedule to advance you in English literature or the English language.

We can work together on your essay style, your creative writing, and we can have some fun lessons analysing texts you might be struggling with. If you're a parent who needs help supporting your child with their English studies, or even their homework, then you've found the right tutor because I love working with teens and guiding them through their literature exams.

If it's English language support you require, I'd love to talk with you and advance your English using themed lessons which we can agree upon mutually, or maybe I'll dive into my box of delightful conversational prompts and take you into the dizzying realms of film, literature, TV, politics, science, technology, philosophy, psychology, childhood, or the unknown future of our grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sometimes my students like to lead the conversation, which is fine by me. Whatever you need to advance your current language skills, I’ll be there to support (and correct) you with some incredible prompts designed to expand your vocabulary, improve your grammar, and make you think deeply in English.
