I am a dedicated English specialist with 13 years of teaching experience and a degree from the University of Bristol. I currently teach secondary-level English in Hertfordshire and have worked in a wide range of educational settings, including teaching English as a Foreign Language to both adults and children in the UK and abroad.

I specialise in preparing students for the English components and interviews required for admission to prestigious independent schools such as Brighton College, Wycombe Abbey, Westminster School, Eton College, and Charterhouse. My tailored approach equips students with the confidence and advanced skills needed to succeed in these highly competitive environments. I have successfully guided several students through the rigorous Westminster Challenge examination process - some of whom have gone on to become King’s Scholars at Eton and Westminster. Having lived and taught in France, including a tenure at the Lycée Saint Sernin in Toulouse, I also bring an international perspective to my teaching. In addition, I specialise in phonics and early academic development, supporting younger learners in building a strong foundation for future academic success.

Tutoring Experience

I have significant expertise in preparing students for entrance examinations and interviews for some of the most prestigious schools in the UK, including Brighton College, Wycombe Abbey, Westminster School, and Charterhouse. I currently run classes to prepare students for the CIE examination at Eton College and have extensive experience with the UKiset and ISEB common assessments. My current work also includes preparation for the Westminster Challenge paper.

My work involves supporting students from primary level through to sixth form. For overseas families, I provide comprehensive preparation for English entrance exams and interviews. This includes mock interviews, detailed feedback, and bespoke reports for families upon request.

My approach is built around a detailed evaluation of each student’s current proficiency, helping families understand strengths and areas for improvement.
