I’ve successfully guided many students into top grammar and independent schools across London/Essex through Magical Minds: schools such as City of London, Bancroft’s, Chigwell, HBS, Chelmsford County High, KEGs and more.

I am based in the East London/Essex area. Many of my students come from Woodford, Chigwell, Loughton, Redbridge, Ilford etc. For those further away, I tutor online too.

I can accommodate tutoring sessions anytime (weekdays or weekends, daytime or evening as needed). I can increase session frequency or timing during school holidays or as exam dates approach if required.

I’ve dedicated years to refining my teaching craft, and keep up to date with the latest 11+ formats and educational techniques.

Tutoring Approach

My approach is results-driven & nurturing. I maintain regular contact with the parent- always sending over an initial detailed strategy plan after the first session, and following this, reports & practice after each lesson.

We begin by identifying strengths and areas for improvement, then craft a study plan focusing on all 11+ subjects (Maths, English, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning). I teach unique exam strategies which I have developed over the years. This includes time management methods, critical thinking exercises, and exam-specific strategies that improve accuracy and speed. We work through (plenty!) of practice questions and past papers together, cementing tricky problem-solving and comprehension tasks. I also place emphasis on developing a rich vocabulary and solid grasp of fundamentals.

My goal is to build up each child’s resilience. I use positive reinforcement and a patient, friendly approach to keep them motivated.

While I am nurturing, I also set high expectations & goals because I know what my students are capable of. I regularly track progress and give constructive feedback.
*For independent school candidates, I offer coaching for interviews where applicable. I conduct mock interviews in a calm setting, helping students practice speaking articulately about themselves and tackling challenging questions. This extra preparation ensures they present themselves as confident, well-rounded candidates on exam day or interview day.
