Hey there! I'm signing up to becoming a tutor to help support my education in Scotland, but more importantly to provide assistance to students where needed. I'm 19 years old, and currently studying Geoscience at Glasgow University. I have taught students and monks around Asia, and have some experience in SEN teaching during my A-Levels. I'll always give my absolute best to my students and tailor lessons according to their skillsets. Thank you!
PMGY Nepal. Khawalung Monastery. I taught English, Maths, Science and Geography to differing age groups for 2 weeks here, and enjoyed every second of it.
Jiujiang, China. I taught English to a close friends daughter. Whilst informal, it was still a fantastic experience which was thoroughly enjoyed!
I've performed in and helped with Junior pantomimes around Essex. I'd like to think I know how to get the best out of them!
As a student I was always reluctant to ask for tutoring assistance, as it is not easy as a kid to be comfortable around new people or teachers. This is why I think relating whilst being natural and comfortable around students is incredibly important, as it allows them to settle into the lesson, thus helping them retain information easier. The first lessons will be understanding where they are at and measuring their progress, with the succeeding lessons tailored to their weak points and what they would like to learn. I'd install checkpoints and perhaps mini tests to assess them and ensure progress is on track. If my student happened to be more of a visual learner, I'd integrate media/visuals accordingly. Ultimately my approach would differ from student to student as I understand more about them. Any questions please let me know!
