Jamie- Louise

My name is Jamie-Louise and I am a primary school teacher, and a senior manager, in an ofsted rated ‘outstanding’ school. I am also a Maths coordinator for the school and have been teaching for 10 years.

I really enjoy tutoring- I love that I am able to support children to acquire new skills and become more confident in areas of the curriculum. I am able to offer tutoring for both Maths and English for 5-11 year olds.

Tutoring Experience

I studied Primary Education for three years at university and during my training, I taught in all school years from Reception up to Year 6. I also specialised in ‘Communication and Languages’ in my final year to help me work with children who have English as an Additional Language.
Since I qualified in 2015, most of my experience has been in Key Stage 2 where I have taught in Year 3, Year 5 and in Year 6.

I have had a range of tutees over the past few years from Year 1 up to Year 6 pupils preparing for their SATs. I have also ran online sessions which were very successful.

Tutoring Approach

My approach to tutoring is to always meet the child's specific needs. Children learn in a variety of different ways and I ensure that they learn but also enjoy their time with me. Whether it be a specific focus that they are finding challenging at school or a general overview of curriculum topics, I will put together a range of exciting lessons to help engage the child and further their learning.
