Hi! I’m Gurveer, a Cambridge-based maths tutor with a deep-rooted passion for helping students succeed. I’ve loved maths from an early age — inspired by my mum, who has been tutoring for over 30 years. With her support, I achieved an A* in GCSE Maths (2015) and an A in A-Level Maths (2017), before graduating with a degree in Computer Science in 2020.

Since then, I’ve been working as a software engineer at Arm, one of the UK’s leading tech companies. Alongside my career, I tutor in my spare time because I genuinely enjoy helping students build confidence and achieve their full potential in maths.

I offer 1-to-1 tutoring (online or in person) for all levels up to GCSE Higher, with a focus on making maths clear, engaging, and tailored to each student’s needs. Whether you're aiming for top grades or need extra support to catch up, I’m here to guide you every step of the way.

Tutoring Experience

While I’m new to formal tutoring, I’ve spent years helping my younger siblings and supporting friends with their maths studies. Having been tutored myself by my mum — a dedicated tutor of over 30 years — I understand first-hand what effective, compassionate teaching looks like. Combined with my strong academic background, this has shaped me into a patient, clear, and committed tutor ready to help students succeed.

Tutoring Approach

I take a calm, patient, and understanding approach to tutoring — qualities that I believe are essential for helping students feel confident and supported. While I may be new to formal tutoring, I’ve guided many people through complex technical problems in my professional life, always with a focus on clear explanations and encouragement. I believe that no question is too small and that with the right support, every student can grow to enjoy and succeed in maths. My goal is to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable, heard, and empowered to improve at their own pace.
