With extensive experience as a Sociology and Psychology teacher, Head of Department for Sociology and AQA examiner, I bring a deep understanding of both subject areas along with a proven track record of excellent academic outcomes. I hold a degree in Sociology and Criminology, a PGCE in Further Education, and QTLS status. Over the course of my career, I have honed my expertise as a KS5 Sociology and Psychology teacher and as Head of Sociology in a comprehensive and culturally diverse school. For the past six years, I have taught A-level Sociology and Psychology, leading the Sociology department for three years, including during the challenging period of the pandemic and teacher-assessed grades. As a proactive and dedicated Sixth Form tutor of six years, I have consistently supported students’ academic and personal development. My tenure as Head of Sociology has been marked by a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, positioning Sociology and Psychology among the top-performing departments in our Sixth Form. Both subjects have consistently achieved results that surpass national averages, reflecting the high standards I have upheld.
I have been an AQA examiner for Sociology and Psychology since 2023. I have completed the Outstanding Teacher Programme (OTP) and participated in various training courses, including AQA Curriculum sessions for A-level Sociology and Psychology.
