I am Head of Maths in a school in Walthamstow, and have been teaching Maths for the past 8 years in East London. My degree background is in Economics and due to the very relevant nature of the subject, my approach to teaching of Mathematics is heavily influenced by making it relevant and practical for students. I'm very sociable, and have been frequently commended on my ability to build a rapport with my students.
I have experience of teaching all levels up to AS-Level Maths, with a particular focus on GCSE Mathematics. Although I am teaching in Waltham Forest now, I have taught previously in Redbridge, Enfield and Tower Hamlets, so I have experience in different types of teaching environments which has developed my teaching style to be more inclusive. From past tuition, I have ensured that my students have all surpassed their target grades. I have a speciality in helping students that are struggling to get a pass onto the higher grades!
After making an initial assessment of a student, I provide a personalised schedule and scheme of learning that will focus on existing weaknesses, as well as challenging the more able students to harder topics. My approachable nature, coupled with my subject knowledge makes an effective tool for ensuring students are progressing.
