I have been a full time teacher since 2002. I am currently employed as a Head of Science; this is the third time that I have held this role. Each time, I have enjoyed considerable success in improving the grades of students so that they exceeded their own expectations. For example, whilst at a school in Rotherham, my faculty had results in the top 10% in the UK despite the school being a 'failing' school. In my current school, the majority of my scholars who were in year 11 last year made 2-4 grades progress whilst in year 11.
I have taught all three science disciplines to students aged 11 to 18.
I am a current Head of Science who has enjoyed considerable success in substantially improving students grades. I specialise in maximising each scholar's grades so that they can go on a enjoy more opportunities in the future.
I believe that clear explanations and ensuring that students understand those explanations is at the heart of success. I tend to ask lots of questions to check understanding before asking students to apply their knowledge.
