I am a first-year University of Cambridge medical student. I studied at King Edward VI Camp Hill School for Girls in Birmingham for secondary school and sixth form, and achieved 9s in all 11 of my GCSE subjects. I achieved A*s in Biology, Chemistry and Maths A-levels.
I started tutoring and teaching others and helping younger students in school and in the wider community since 2019. I have taught ages from Year 5 to Year 13, for 11+, and Biology, Chemistry and Maths at GCSE and A-level. I find teaching others to be a fulfilling experience that is enriching for all those involved.
I believe in a personalised teaching approach, that caters to the specific needs of the student. I start by doing an assessment of the student's starting level, and together consider their priorities in what to study deeper. I think it is important to adapt learning approaches to how they learn best, with visual aids and simplifying complex concepts with analogies. As well as explaining concepts, I incorporate regular active recall in lessons to ensure students are retaining information.
