I am a fully qualified secondary Mathematics Teacher with over 10 years of experience in the classroom. I hold a PGCE in Maths (KCL) and have taught at top-performing schools – including serving as Head of Maths at a leading London independent school. I have personally guided 400+ students through their GCSE and A-Level exams over my career, with a track record of students achieving top grades. Many of my tutees have dramatically improved their results within months: for example, one A-level student went from a C- grade to an A after intensive coaching and a recent GCSE pupil jumped from a grade 5 to grade 7 in just 6 weeks of lessons. I specialize in GCSE, IGCSE, and A-Level Maths (across all exam boards) and am intimately familiar with the new 9–1 GCSE grading and A-Level curriculum. As a current exam marker and curriculum contributor, I know what it takes for students to secure those A and grade 9 results.”
I am also an MBA graduate of educational leadership from the prestigious Institute of Education (IoE, UCL). This has helped me hone in on key research surrounding the most up-to-date teaching and learning theories which inevitably translates into my teaching practice. I have an excellent understanding of the British Curriculum, exam techniques, cognitive and motivational theories. Students enjoy my lessons and enjoy the feeling of making 'tangible' progress.
I have also helped many 11+ / 13+ students secure their dream school (both UK and international). My experience in independent schools is key to this success.
► My 5 star feedback is a testament to the effort I put into each lesson. Students make strides of progress very quickly ◄
Students enjoy working with me, take a trial lesson and see for yourself!
1) Students are assessed and given a bespoke learning plan when they start with me. On average, students secure 2-3 grades of progress within a short space of time.
2) I rely on proven methods backed up with research to ensure that Mathematical concepts are broken down in easy to understand ways. By employing interleaving/scaffolding to ensure the content remains in the long-term memory.
3) Students enjoy my lessons due to appropriate challenge, expert pedagogy and a great sense of 'teacher' humour.
