Antima

I am a scientist by profession, specializing in drug discovery, with a strong passion for tutoring, teaching, and supervision. I am deeply committed to contributing to the development of an educated and informed society by sharing my knowledge and expertise.

Throughout my academic journey, I consistently achieved distinction in science and was selected for an MSc in Biotechnology at one of India’s premier universities through a highly competitive national-level examination. I later pursued a Ph.D. in infectious diseases at the CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI), where I developed a strong foundation in drug discovery research.
Following my doctoral studies, I undertook postdoctoral research at top universities in London, further honing my skills in biomedical research. I then served as a Research and Teaching Manager at Birkbeck, University of London, where I gained extensive experience in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, managing research projects, and supervising students at various academic levels.

Science has always been my passion, particularly in the field of drug discovery, and I am consistently praised by colleagues and students alike for my engaging and effective teaching methods. This encouragement continues to fuel my motivation to be a dedicated educator and mentor in the scientific community.

Tutoring Experience

I am a responsible, well-organized, and self-motivated person and it makes me confident for transferring the best of my knowledge and experience to the educational system. Since my Ph.D., I started supervising and teaching undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) students. I help to deliver few hours of PG lectures and practical demonstrations to support at Birkbeck, University of London. I support lecturers to prepare the learning resources including in-depth product information, technique, and basic literature. I also provide hands-on training to students for biological techniques. I do mentor the students with their projects, assignments, coursework, CV, and personal statement assessment.

Tutoring Approach

Science is all around us, and understanding its basic principles from an early age is essential. As a biologist and passionate educator, I aim to make biology not only accessible but truly engaging for secondary and higher education students.
Biology has always been my strongest and most enjoyable subject, and I take pride in making complex topics easy to understand. I specialize in preparing students for GCSE and A-Level Biology, using clear explanations, real-life examples, and an interactive teaching style to help students grasp both fundamental concepts and advanced modules.
With a strong background in academic science and research, I bring depth and clarity to each session. I tailor every lesson to the individual needs of my students- whether they need to build foundational knowledge or push towards top grades. A typical session lasts around 1:30 hours, covering one topic thoroughly, though I’m very flexible and adjust the pace and style to suit each learner.

Most of my students have achieved A* and gone on to secure places in competitive programs, including MBBS courses at Imperial College London and Hull York Medical School. These achievements reflect not only their hard work but also the supportive, structured, and focused learning environment I strive to provide.
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I look forward to helping you or your child succeed in biology with confidence and enthusiasm.
