Hi! My name is Aarav and I am excited to be tutoring for GCSE, A levels and university applications (UCAT and UCAS).
I have achieved 14 9s in my GCSEs, with an A in FSMQ (further maths), and have been predicted 5 A*s in my A Levels (maths, further maths, biology, chemistry, EPQ). I have offers to study medicine from the University of Cambridge and Imperial College London.
I have had experience tutoring previously, albeit intermittently, and have been a regular mentor for chemistry, biology and maths at the Grammar School I attended. I helped my mentees overcome their weaknesses in preparation for GCSE unit tests and in their overall GCSEs, helping a student achieve a 9 in biology and another achieve a 9 in chemistry. Having achieved the top grades in my qualifications, advice from someone who has recently been through the system is incredibly useful and will boost your studies further.
I will mainly focus on addressing weaknesses that a student has in the subject, which I will identify by using regular exam style practice questions and asking what the student has been finding difficult in class and in tests. I believe this is the best way to improve quickly, supplemented in the long term with strengthening of all subject topics. I find it very important to try and push the student with new information to deal with the increasing competition for the highest grades, aiming to foster a love for the subject, give additional information for research on the side (for university applications) and to deal with unknown topics in exam questions.
